As a Design Engineer within the Retail Electric Power Solutions (REPS) team, you will be responsible for the design and development of diesel and gas generator systems and sub‑systems. You will be an integral part of the mechanical design team working on concepting, designing, and developing base frames, enclosures, control panels, breaker panels, exhaust lines, air intake, and fuel systems. This role directly impacts Caterpillar’s current and future generator products for various markets.
Basic Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering, at least three years of experience designing mechanical components, proficiency with 3D CAD (Creo) and PLM (Teamcenter), and experience collaborating in multidisciplinary engineering teams and with suppliers.
Desired Qualification: Communicate technical information effectively with all stakeholders.
