Janitor

Description

The Janitor role is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and disinfected workplace. Duties include cleaning interior surfaces such as floors, carpets, windows, and walls, as well as restrooms, and ensuring furniture and fixtures are dust‑free. The position also requires managing trash, recycling, and snow removal when needed, maintaining cleaning supply inventory, and reporting unsafe conditions.

• Clean interior surfaces (floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls) and dust furniture, lighting, marble, and moldings.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop office areas, hallways, lobbies, elevators, stairs, and locker rooms.
• Remove stains from chairs and upholstered furniture.
• Disinfect high‑touch items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
• Clean and restock restrooms, including replenishing supplies.
• Wash windows and mirrors.
• Empty trash, recycling, and ashtrays; remove trash and snow from sidewalks when required.
• Maintain cleaning‑supply inventory and request restocking from supervisors.
• Record cleaned areas on a cleaning chart and report unsafe or maintenance‑required conditions.
• Follow safety and precaution rules, lift up to 50 lb, and close doors at the end of night shift.
• Follow instructions, take responsibility for actions, and meet commitments.
• Observe and adhere to safety and security procedures, reporting hazards promptly.
