Prepare or coordinate preparation of project / client correspondence and documentation
Team Leadership: Leading a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring project progress in multiple locations
Work directly with municipal client staff to deliver CIP programs and or projects, potentially on-site in a staff augmentation setting
Anticipate client needs, biases, and preferences and tailor communication and work output accordingly
Client Relations: Establishing and maintaining relationships with municipal clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring project requirements are met
Maintain open and effective communication with clients as well as internal and external stakeholders
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identifying potential risks and challenges, developing risk mitigation strategies, and resolving issues that may arise during project execution
Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements, implementing best practices, and promoting innovation within the municipal engineering department
Contract Management: Overseeing contract negotiations, reviewing contractor performance, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring projects comply with relevant municipal codes, regulations, and environmental standards
Plan, direct, and coordinate activities including client meetings, public hearings, and public involvement events so that projects move forward within the prescribed time frames and budgets
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment, occasional travel or field visits may be required to support
Participate in and lead business development activities to new and existing clients through the following activities: plans, leads and participates in client meetings and networking events
Budgeting and Resource Management: Developing project budgets, allocating resources effectively, and monitoring expenditures to ensure cost control

10+ years municipal experience; direct experience working for a municipality is a plus
Ability and desire to develop an understanding of, or even anticipate the client’s needs, is a plus
Experience in managing municipal CIP programs and projects, clients, and staff in this market
Understanding of alternative funding sources for municipal projects, and ability to secure funding
Registration as a professional engineer (or the ability to obtain registration within six months)
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school
A history in delivering projects with positive customer service experiences
Ability to work 40 hours a week
