As a key part of our Cyber Security Leadership team, you'll help define Element Materials Technology's cyber security strategy, transformation roadmap, and governance framework. You will lead a global team of security engineering experts, providing a supportive environment that attracts and retains talent. Although the role is not primarily hands‑on, the Head of Cyber Engineering is expected to stay technically engaged and may contribute directly to important initiatives, solve complex problems, or respond to high‑severity security incidents.
The role involves hiring, developing, and managing security engineers while overseeing day‑to‑day team activities. You will lead deployment of security tools and platforms, develop secure‑by‑design solutions, and promote a positive cyber‑security culture across the organization. Additionally, you will shape the long‑term security strategy, manage delivery of cyber engineering initiatives, advise business units and third parties, and ensure security mechanisms are prioritized and cost‑effective. You will also evaluate and recommend security products, design reusable components, work closely with IT and development teams, identify capability gaps, and lead transformation projects, providing hands‑on technical leadership during critical incidents.
We are looking for a highly self‑motivated individual with a positive, can‑do mindset who sees security as an enabler of business growth. The ideal candidate applies sound judgment across diverse business and technical contexts, builds and sustains high‑performing engineering teams, and communicates effectively with senior stakeholders. They are an exceptional communicator, business partner, and mentor.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and typically 10+ years of cybersecurity or security engineering experience are required. Candidates should have a strong hands‑on technical foundation, a track record of progressing to senior technical leadership, and experience in complex global technology environments. Deep knowledge of threat models, security technologies across network, endpoint, application, identity, and cloud domains, as well as offensive security and cloud‑first solution design is essential. Proven ability to lead security engineering teams, define roadmaps, deliver large cross‑functional projects, and communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences is also required.
