Mechanical VDC Manager - Fort Worth

Description

• Develop and enforce VDC standards, workflows, and best practices.
• Lead the mechanical VDC team in developing coordinated 3D models for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
• Participate in preconstruction planning, design reviews, and coordination meetings.
• Manage the production of shop drawings, spool drawings, and layout files for field installation and prefabrication.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure constructible and accurate models.
• Train and mentor junior VDC staff and modelers.
• Oversee clash detection and resolution using Navisworks or similar tools.
• Support field teams with layout, installation, and fabrication guidance.
• Maintain documentation and version control of models throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam; experience with Trimble or similar layout tools is a plus.
• Experience managing VDC teams or leading coordination efforts on large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with prefabrication workflows and field installation processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction and VDC/BIM coordination.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and piping.
