Architect Designer

Description

The Project Designer will consult with clients to define functional and spatial requirements, prepare design specifications, and coordinate project personnel to maintain schedule and budget. Responsibilities include planning layouts, integrating engineering elements, producing drawings and contract documents, representing the client during bid processes, administering contracts, conducting site observations, and performing final quality assurance reviews while adhering to safety standards.

• Consult with clients to define functional and spatial requirements for new or renovation projects.
• Prepare design information including specifications, materials, colors, equipment, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Direct and coordinate project personnel to keep work on schedule and within budget.
• Plan project layouts and integrate engineering elements into unified designs for client approval.
• Produce scaled drawings and contract documents for contractors.
• Represent the client during bid solicitation and contract award processes.
• Administer construction contracts and conduct periodic on‑site observations to ensure compliance.
• Develop studies, reports, and design plans using CAD, Revit, and other design software.
• Supervise staff preparing drawings and specification documents.
• Resolve client issues, provide technical advice, and perform final QA/buildability reviews.
• Sign and seal project documents under supervision.
• Follow site safety requirements throughout construction phases.
• Read, analyze, and interpret specifications, drawings, and regulatory documents.
• Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Deliver effective presentations to managers, clients, and public audiences.
• Obtain architectural licensure in the applicable state(s) within the designated timeframe.

Requirements

Key skills required are a solid understanding of building design and construction methods, the ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings, strong written communication for reports and correspondence, and effective presentation abilities. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and the Microsoft Office suite is essential.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and be able to obtain an architectural license in the relevant state(s) within the specified timeframe, completing any required training and testing.
