The design professional will be responsible for producing innovative, cost-effective designs, drawings, and specifications for assigned projects, working towards professional registration, and signing/sealing documents under supervision. They will guide the project from conceptual stages through detailed design and construction documentation.
- Develop innovative design concepts, system recommendations, pricing, proposals, and outline specifications for healthcare projects.
- Ensure design compliance with client criteria, codes, ordinances, standards, and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Produce detailed construction documents, coordinate interdisciplinary drawings, and maintain office standards and quality control processes.
- Review and check shop drawings and submittal data, serve as discipline field interface, and provide solutions to field issues, RFIs, and change orders.
- Lead the production and archiving of record drawings and specifications, and assist with project closeout and post‑construction reviews.
- Create and monitor discipline work plans, man‑hour estimates, schedules, and budgets, reporting status to the Design Manager.
- Direct technical efforts of discipline staff, mentor assigned personnel, and communicate design decisions to the project team and client.
- Participate in project strategy meetings, permitting schedule creation, and interdisciplinary coordination to minimize deficiencies.
- Manage cost monitoring for outside consultants and ensure discipline scope is covered in project budgets and bids.
- Conduct construction inspections, prepare inspection reports and punch lists, and support construction managers and super‑intendents.

The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, registration as an Architect, and at least ten years of experience, especially in designing acute and outpatient healthcare facilities. Proficiency with Revit, strong presentation, management, and user-group facilitation skills are essential.
Physical demands include the ability to travel to project sites, perform site visits, and handle light to medium loads (10‑50 lb), while also meeting typical office tasks such as sitting, reaching, and using a keyboard.
