Computer Aided Design Designer

As a CAD Designer at Moreton Hire, you will play a pivotal role in transforming client briefs into detailed technical drawings and 3D visualisations. You’ll work closely with our sales, production, and fabrication teams to ensure design intent is translated into buildable, cost-effective solutions that meet both aesthetic and structural requirements.

• Collaborate with project managers, account managers, and production teams to ensure feasibility and compliance with safety and engineering standards.
• Assist with the development of design templates and libraries for recurring event formats.
• Participate in client meetings to understand design intent and provide technical input.
• Support the fabrication team with clarification and updates during the build process.
• Maintain drawing standards and file management protocols.
• Develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings for exhibition stands, marquees, signage, and event infrastructure.
• Translate conceptual sketches and client briefs into detailed fabrication-ready documentation.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• White Card and working knowledge of WHS practices preferred.
• Ability to produce accurate, scaled drawings under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with Australian building codes and event safety standards.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
• Experience in the events, exhibitions, or fit-out industries is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Strong understanding of structural drafting and fabrication methods across timber, metal, and composite materials.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for design and problem-solving.
