The Senior Human Resources (HR) Manager serves as a strategic partner and leader within the HR function, overseeing operations and driving initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness, culture, and scalability. The role leads core HR services, manages M&A‑related HR activities, and works with senior leaders to support a high‑performing, inclusive workforce. Candidates must reside in the Denver metro area of Colorado, and the hybrid position offers a salary range of $150,000‑$180,000 based on experience.
In this capacity, the manager partners with senior leaders on organizational design, effectiveness, and change management while leading a high‑performing HR team. Responsibilities include ensuring consistent, compliant, and scalable HR policies, systems, and processes, driving culture, engagement, and inclusion initiatives, and managing HR metrics and analytics to identify improvement opportunities and support talent planning.
The role leads HR due diligence and risk analysis for mergers and acquisitions, develops and executes integration plans covering employee transitions, communication, culture alignment, and organizational design, and serves as the primary HR contact throughout pre‑ and post‑close integration phases.
The manager oversees large‑scale HR initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with business goals, clear timelines, and strong stakeholder engagement. This includes change management for restructures, process improvements, and global HR system rollouts, as well as identifying opportunities to enhance HR operations and employee experience.
Acting as a senior escalation point, the manager handles complex employee‑relations issues and investigations, ensures compliance with federal, state, multistate, and international employment laws, and guides policy interpretation while supporting the development of HR best practices.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field and bring at least eight years of progressive HR experience, including three to five years in a leadership role. Hands‑on experience with M&A HR functions, strong project‑management skills, deep knowledge of multi‑state and global employment law, and proven communication and relationship‑building abilities are essential. Applicants must be located in Colorado and be willing to work onsite in the Denver Tech Center, and they should have experience using HR analytics to drive strategy.
Preferred qualifications include experience overseeing HR operations for international employee populations, professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM‑CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR), and a background in high‑growth, acquisitive, or global matrixed environments. Experience supporting technical, engineering, or professional services teams and implementing global HR processes, systems, or technology enhancements is also valued.
Employees benefit from an employee‑stock‑ownership program, a robust referral program, annual performance and compensation reviews, professional training and development, recognition awards, a peer‑mentor program, and additional benefits such as health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
Applications are accepted online only; resumes are reviewed personally by recruiters. Merrick & Company offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and employment is contingent upon completion of background, MVR, and drug screening checks.
