Building engineering at HDR is more than systems and structures; it powers progress and enables innovation. As part of the Building Engineering Services Group, you will help design critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. From high‑performance data centers driving AI to dynamic commercial environments, your work will directly support technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience.
The Mechanical Intern position offers hands‑on experience on a diverse portfolio of projects—including healthcare, data centers, water‑wastewater, transportation, aviation, hospitality, and corporate real estate—while working under the direct supervision of a professional or project manager.
We require candidates to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and possess solid problem‑solving and communication skills. Basic Microsoft Office proficiency and a commitment to our employee‑owned culture are also essential.
Preferred applicants will have completed three years toward their degree with at least a 3.0 GPA, be familiar with software such as Autodesk Revit, IESVE, and Trane Trace 700/3D, and ideally be local to the area.
