Project Geo Technical Engineer

• Review monitoring data for live construction projects, very displacements against predictions.
• Identify and leverage business opportunities.
• Provide geotechnical support to the inhouse structural team, provide pile scheming calculations, retaining wall designs, constructability/temporary works optioneering, review contractor designs for compliance.
• Cultivate strong client relationships to secure repeat business.
• Advise on foundation reuse and piled raft schemes where appropriate with a view to minimizing concrete volumes and maximising carbon savings.
• Prepare clear, concise, and well-presented proposals and fee bids for new projects.
• Complex Geotechnical modelling for large building projects and basements using PLAXIS 3D to establish ground movements, impact assessments, monitoring strategies and inform temporary works sequences.
• Execute temporary and permanent works design, ensuring robust project outcomes.
• Develop comprehensive ground and conceptual site models from desk studies and ground investigation data, producing clear, concise, and informative reports.

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team in London. This role is perfect for a professional with extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, who excels in leading and mentoring a team of engineers and who can demonstrate their ability to develop and implement innovative solutions for complex geotechnical challenges ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will work in a small, high performing team, embedded within a wider structural and civil engineering team. Project are complex, challenging, and rewarding for the right candidate.

• Essential: Working towards chartership, either with the ICE or the Geological Society.
• Exhibit exceptional written communication skills with proficiency in report writing and reviewing.
• Understand the role of engineering geology and geotechnical engineering in the design of residential, commercial, and retail developments, and associated infrastructure.
• Understand fee structures, cost management, and billing within a consultancy setting, coupled with an appreciation of the budgetary and commercial drivers in the development sector.
• Essential:BSc in Geology, Engineering Geology, or BEng in Civil Engineering.
• Desirable: MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Essential: Proven and demonstrable experience in a civil or geotechnical engineering consultancy within the UK.
• Demonstrate expertise in soil-structure interaction, geotechnical design, and interpretation, including ground model determination, slope stability assessments, shallow and deep foundation design, ground improvement options, retaining wall design, and ground movement assessments.
