In this full-time role the engineer will create 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials that guide the production and installation of equipment on various vehicles. The position involves close collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure designs meet ANSI and other standards, while supporting manufacturing, service, and quality functions.
- Create accurate 3D models and detailed 2D drawings based on specifications and safety standards.
- Design mechanical interfaces between heavy equipment and vehicle chassis.
- Produce production drawings that minimize ambiguity and fabrication delays.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess feasibility and resolve design issues while meeting ANSI standards.
- Analyze vehicle and equipment configurations to determine mounting parameters, load distribution, and stability.
- Generate ANSI‑compliant load charts from tested and calculated stability data.
- Apply engineering principles to improve existing systems and develop innovative mounting solutions.
- Design and revise parts and assemblies independently with minimal supervision.
- Complete Engineering Change Notices and manage documentation for revision control.
- Prepare technical specifications to support new product development and streamline manufacturing.
- Review and update technical documentation for clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
- Support manufacturing, service, quality, and distribution teams by resolving design‑related problems.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related discipline, and be proficient with SolidWorks, Onshape, or comparable 3D CAD tools. Preferred experience includes mechanical system design for mobile or custom industrial equipment, familiarity with lean manufacturing, PLM/MRP systems, and the ability to perform load analysis and basic FEA.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Proficient in SolidWorks, Onshape, or equivalent 3D CAD software; familiar with 2D drafting tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical system design, blueprint interpretation, and problem‑solving.
- Experience with mobile or custom industrial equipment integration.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take initiative in fast‑paced environments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, PLM/MRP systems, and technical documentation practices.
- Understanding of welding techniques, bolted joint design, and structural mounting best practices.
- Basic proficiency in load case analysis, FEA, and mechanical stress evaluation.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lb occasionally and smaller items frequently.
Benefits
