  • Stay connected! Log in daily to your JobAps Personal Status Board to track your status and check email (including spam/junk folders) for updates and tasks.
  • Trains subordinates in effective methods and procedures of utilizing financial data systems;
  • Contacts taxpayers, revenue examiners, accountants or attorneys to discuss and resolve complex tax liability correction problems;
  • Assists in the preparation and updating of procedures manual pertaining to the section;
  • Examines, analyzes and resolves the more difficult and complex correction problems of the section requiring application of a variety of tax statutes and a familiarity with the intricacies of financial data systems;
  • May assist in assigning work to section employees;
  • the tax statutes relating to allowable deductions, computation of tax, interest and penalties and filing dates;
  • Reads and interprets taxpayer correspondence and determines correct course of action to insure accuracy of taxpayer file data;
  • Provides technical assistance in revising tax forms;
  • May recommend changes in existing tax legislation;
  • Analyzes and adjusts billings questioned by taxpayers or other department employees, mathematically incorrect tax returns, complex registration problems or other correction problems which cannot be resolved at a lower level;

  • Experience working with, and an understanding of, the financial postings in CTax and associated interest calculations, particularly concerning audit matters.
  • Experience working with, and an understanding of, audit cases and workpapers.

  • Considerable knowledge of the procedures for edit and updates of returns and assessments into financial data systems;
  • Experience communicating over the phone, email, and web messages.
  • Experience working with, and an understanding of, complex tax returns.

  • Considerable ability to analyze various tax forms and statements;
  • Educational Credits: List your earned credits and degrees from accredited institutions accurately on your application. To receive educational credits towards qualification, the institution must be accredited. If the institution of higher learning is located outside of the U.S., you are responsible for providing documentation from a recognized USA accrediting service which specializes in determining foreign education equivalencies to the contact listed below.
