Lead business development in the local transportation market to provide growth and sustained backlog, including management of client relationships for loyalty, long-term engagement, and lifetime retention.

Client & Team Communication: You will maintain strong client relationships as the client relationship manager and point of contact throughout a project’s lifecycle. You will manage all client communications and satisfaction and coordinate with discipline key task leaders, staff, and subconsultants to ensure seamless project execution and collaboration. You’ll perform regular quality control checks on deliverables, developing, monitoring, and meeting schedules and budgets for projects.

Lead the highway team, including client management, project development, financial performance and revenue growth, backlog balancing through utilization and workshare, and associate mentorship and growth.
Responsible for project performance and execution, including oversight of Design Teams through mentorship and project leadership. Additional responsibilities include monitoring labor budgets and schedules for assigned tasks/projects; coordinating with key task leaders and staff to ensure ongoing communications; meeting project deliverable schedules and budgets for assigned projects; and supporting marketing and business development initiatives.

Master of Science in civil engineering degree or Master of Business Administration preferred, but not required.
Strong supervisory skills and record of leading design teams
Professional Engineering License: You are a licensed professional engineer in Texas, or can obtain reciprocity within six months, holding a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar discipline from an ABET-accredited university.

Technical Proficiency: You have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for day-to-day operations, including emails, budgeting, and presentations. Minimum 12 years of experience in Civil design, at least 8 in highway and roadway related facilities

Communication Skills: With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you can market yourself and RS&H to potential new clients, staff, and consultant or contractor partners.
Local Expertise: You have project experience in Texas, which has taught you policies and procedures associated with managing highway design, alternative delivery, and/or general engineering contracts for TxDOT.
Excellent presentation skills
Experience: You bring 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, managing and mentoring large multi-disciplined teams working on complex projects with a construction value of ≥ $20M.
Ability to travel across the region to existing/potential Transportation Clients
ABET accredited Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
Project & Team Management: You have project management experience with conventional and design-build projects relating to intersections, arterials, interstates, and interchanges for TxDOT and Texas municipal clients.
Experience working on interstate, interchange, and roadway construction for state and county clients
