Maintain and manage customs record-keeping requirements where applicable.
Assign tariff classifications for indirect materials, machinery and parts for Mexican Customs entry purposes.
Verify the part number, supplier, origin and number of pieces, boxes or pallets.
Verify the quantities on the packing list.
Physically verify that all outgoing trailers are picked up and loaded correctly.
Reorganize containers or parts on pallets that require unwrapping for verification.
Make, model, and serial number of machinery.
Support team members by discussing classifications, assisting with projects, and attending relevant meetings.
Report any discrepancies, damage, or anomalies of the goods to the Customs Manager.
Collaborate with engineers to gather and understand the technical information required for product classification.
Receive goods into ERP system and generate inventory control labels.

Familiarity with Trade Compliance or a technical background.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to maintain focus on a single task and situational awareness.
Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a classifier.
Preferred: English/Spanish Bilingual proficiency
Ability to perform well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
Detail-oriented and computer proficient (MS Word, Excel).
