Assistant Architectural Technologist

Description

• Assist in preparing architectural drawings and technical documentation.
• Support project design tasks and feasibility studies.
• Conduct site and measured surveys, gathering relevant information.
• Produce and amend CAD drawings, reviewing existing and proposed plans.
• Help prepare planning and building control submission drawings and documents.
• Support processing of planning applications and discharge of planning conditions.
• Assist in responding to Building Control queries under direction.
• Maintain risk registers and document control systems.
• Attend site visits with senior team members, clients, and consultants.
• Provide project administration and coordination, including timesheets and weekly progress meetings.
• Keep senior team members informed on progress of allocated tasks.
• Participate actively in continuous professional development (CPD).
• Take personal responsibility for health and safety in line with company policies.
• Be aware of the UK planning and building control process.
• Maintain strong attention to detail.

Requirements

Applicants should hold or be working towards a qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field, possess basic construction knowledge, and be keen to develop CAD skills and pursue professional accreditation. Strong organisational, communication, and detail‑oriented abilities, along with a collaborative, client‑focused attitude, are essential.

• Hold or be working towards a qualification in Architectural Technology, Architectural Design, or a related discipline.
• Possess basic understanding of construction technology and building methods.
• Show willingness and ambition to work towards professional architectural or CIAT accreditation.
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit is desirable.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop technical skills, and take guidance from senior staff.
• Exhibit strong organisational skills and ability to manage allocated tasks effectively.
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
