Within the sustainability team the Carbon Accountant will collect and analyse emissions data, operate carbon accounting tools, and propose pathways to reduce the organisation's carbon footprint. They will integrate data systems, establish governance with stakeholders, ensure compliance with legal and corporate sustainability requirements, and model emission scenarios to support cost-benefit analysis of mitigation projects. The role also contributes to wider sustainability initiatives covering environmental, social and economic aspects and promotes digital modelling capabilities across the MoD and industry.
Ideal candidates hold a relevant professional certification and a degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, environmental sciences, accountancy or a related discipline, with 3-5 years of experience in carbon accounting and sustainability reporting, preferably in a manufacturing setting. They possess deep knowledge of climate change, GHG accounting frameworks (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, PAS 2060), and experience with Scope 1-3 measurements, LCA and tools such as DREAM or BREEAM. Rolls-Royce is an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity and will support applicants in obtaining the required UK security clearance.
Employees enjoy a competitive salary, performance bonus, employee support assistance, and discounts, together with excellent development opportunities. A flexible hybrid working model allows staff to balance time between office, home or other remote locations.
