The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design, development, and testing of complex mechanical components, systems, and equipment, overseeing everything from concept through manufacturing release. The role also includes training and mentoring engineers on design concepts, manufacturing techniques, and material considerations, as well as researching and implementing new design tools for the engineering department.
Key responsibilities encompass completing product designs and documentation, performing FEA and FMEA analyses, developing electronic help files, managing projects, and researching emerging technologies. The engineer will also improve departmental processes, generate testing and validation plans, and ensure product quality through testing and validation activities.
Candidates must demonstrate strong project management abilities and deep expertise in designing and prototyping injection‑molded plastics, metal stampings, die castings, and sheet‑metal parts, with a creative, solution‑oriented mindset. Independent judgment, minimal supervision, and the ability to apply engineering economic analysis are essential.
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least five years of relevant experience are required, including extensive work with high‑volume automated manufacturing, manual assembly, and 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred). Experience with PC‑board packaging, regulatory compliance, consumer product or electro‑mechanical design, and advanced drafting terminology is preferred.
The position may require up to 15 % travel, including occasional international trips.
