  • Its name—derived from founders Othman, Tahran, and Kurahashi—signals a legacy rooted in collaborative creativity and technical excellence.
  • After joining forces with HanmiGlobal in 2011, Otak launched a period of strategic growth, acquiring firms like DAY CPM, Loris & Associates, V3 Studios, Visitor Use Management, and Tarr Whitman Group to broaden its capabilities.
  • Typical projects span mixed-use hospitality towers, school districts, transit facilities, and national park visitor centers—often weaving sustainability and context-sensitive design into each site.
  • The firm’s integrated service offering—from urban design and engineering to project controls and construction management—makes it uniquely equipped to shepherd complex developments end-to-end.
  • Standout highlights include the Hyatt Place tower in Portland, fish‑passage engineering for WSDOT, bridge replacements, and innovative work in national parks and EV battery facilities.
