The Project Assistant works with an established project team on active construction projects, supporting the Project Manager and developing under the guidance of CSI. The role requires adherence to company core values and contributes to successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities include managing document control, permits, submittals, RFIs, purchase orders and vendor tracking, as well as providing administrative support to field foremen and coordinating with the lighting and pre‑fabrication departments. The assistant also summarizes time‑and‑material data, prepares reports, and handles job closeouts while taking ownership of assigned tasks.
- Manage document control and drawings.
- Prepare submittals and shop drawings; review quoted items and commodities.
- Manage RFI logs and assess cost impact of RFIs.
- Process purchase orders, vendor tracking, and releases.
- Coordinate with lighting department for fixture, control, and switchgear tracking.
- Support pre‑fab department as needed.
- Provide field foremen with information, material tracking, and administrative support.
- Summarize and track time and material paperwork.
- Take ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.
- Prepare reports and schedule reviews for project reviews.
- Prepare job closeouts and operation & maintenance (O&M) documents.
- Operate in climate‑controlled environments half the time and in varied weather conditions.

Successful candidates are proficient with the MS Office Suite and BlueBeam, demonstrate a proactive and independent work style, and can interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings. Strong reasoning, organizational, written and verbal communication skills, reliability, teamwork, leadership abilities, and a positive customer‑focused attitude are essential, along with at least a high school diploma.
The position involves frequent outdoor work on uneven surfaces, long periods of standing or sitting, and occasional stooping, bending and crouching. Employees regularly use computers for extended periods and may work in climate‑controlled spaces as well as in hot, cold or wet weather, often near industrial equipment and sometimes hazardous chemicals.
