The Project Cost Coordinator supports Project Managers by tracking and reconciling project costs, handling weekly reporting, setting up projects, and providing accounting assistance such as invoice processing and payroll support. The role also offers reporting and accounting aid to site teams and contributes to month‑end close activities. Construction experience is considered a plus.
Key duties involve financial data reconciliation, invoice coding assistance, weekly cost reporting, labor invoicing, A/P folder management, discrepancy research, documentation support, and adherence to safety and attendance standards.
- Reconcile spreadsheet, accounting system, and tracker data to produce project financial reports.
- Enter data into accounting and tracking systems.
- Assist Project Managers with coding project invoices and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Generate and issue weekly cost reports and temporary labor invoicing.
- Manage project A/P folders, process related invoices, and maintain organized documentation.
- Research and correct cost and billing discrepancies in consultation with Project Managers.
- Compare goods received in the system to invoices.
- Set up projects in accounting systems and support project documentation.
- Uphold safety and quality standards and maintain regular attendance.

Candidates should have at least two years of accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll experience, ideally within commercial construction, plus a high school diploma or GED; an associate’s degree in accounting or business is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and JDE, strong attention to detail, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Minimum 2 years accounting, AP/AR, and payroll experience, preferably in commercial construction.
- High school diploma/GED required; associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and JDE accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent independent work capability and advanced interpersonal/communication skills.
