As a Penske Technician I, you will diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair various motor truck and trailer equipment, performing tasks with minimal supervision while meeting efficiency standards and handling additional projects as assigned.

Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
Maintain work area appearance and safety
Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or verify proper operation
Use hand tools, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks and hoists
Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other critical parts
Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks and lubrication
Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, reassemble equipment
Raise trucks, buses and heavy components using hydraulic jacks or hoists
Inspect, test and diagnose defective equipment with handheld computers, motor analyzers and pressure gauges
Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts and safety devices
Verify dimensions and clearances of parts against factory specifications
Repair and troubleshoot major components including engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers and fuel system parts
