

Integrated electric utility delivering clean hydroelectric power across British Columbia via generation, transmission and distribution.
* Conduct supplier visits as required, ensuring compliance with operational standards and safety protocols.
* Perform day to day contract management activities including, but not limited to, attending and/or chairing progress meetings, preparing and issuing meeting minutes, monitoring schedules, expediting, drafting of change documents as required, facilitate change processes, negotiations, support negotiation of claims and disputes as required, forecasting, accrual reporting, validation of payment requests, tracking of contract submittals and other deliverables, monitor document controls and contract interpretation.
Within Materials Management, the Materials Contract Management team oversees all contract activities that support the timely delivery of materials. We manage contractor performance, ensure compliance, and deliver strategic value through contracts for recurring materials such as poles, cables, transformers, and other key electrical components.
* Assists in the design and implementation of innovative strategies to enhance vendor management and optimize BCH's contract spend.
* Engage with applicable stakeholders to support resolution of contract issues, including change management, contract disputes and claims management / resolution.
* Review and manage contractual obligations of the parties and provide continual review to ensure that all terms and conditions are met; monitor contract performance, including the reporting and status of contractor and BC Hydro deliverables.
* Proficiency with MS Office including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
* A combination of education, professional training and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
* Minimum of seven years progressive experience managing complex contracts or projects.
* Must possess excellent interpersonal, communications, negotiating, project management, planning and organizational skills.
* Knowledge of generation, distribution, and transmission systems within the utility sector would be an asset.
* Proven abilities (as they relate to contract management) in influencing internal and external parties, managing risk, successful change management initiatives, and optimizing costs through innovation.
* Knowledge and experience with SharePoint and SAP applications are an asset.
* International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) Certification to Associate level or Certifications such as SCMP or PMP is an asset.
* Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline such as Law, or Business Administration, Engineering, Construction/Project Management.
* Strong analytical skills, experience in data reporting, dashboard creation (Excel or Power BI), and the ability to identify trends and communicate insights are assets. * An advanced degree (e.g., MBA or equivalent) is an asset.
* Please note this role is classified as a Hybrid role under the flexible work model, which currently includes a mix of working from home and working in the office. At present, this role is expected to work in the office a minimum of two days per week however at times it could be more frequent due to operational requirements and does require flexibility.
