The officer will act as the lead for designated neighbourhoods, championing service improvements and delivering professional housing advice. Responsibilities include front‑line housing and estate management, rent collection, swift response to anti‑social behaviour, tenancy sustainment, and assessing housing need to prevent homelessness.
SBHA is looking for a proactive, customer‑focused Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join its team in the Scottish Borders. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a career in social housing while helping tenants and communities thrive. It is a part‑time role, requiring availability on Wednesdays (7.25 h), Thursdays (7.25 h) and Fridays (3.5 h).
Applicants should hold an HND/C level qualification or equivalent experience, and have at least three years of front‑line tenant‑service experience in the housing sector. A solid understanding of housing and benefits legislation, strong customer‑service, conflict‑resolution and communication skills, and proficiency with the MS Office suite are required. A current UK driving licence and own transport are also essential.
The role offers flexible working, a competitive salary, generous annual leave, sick pay entitlement, life assurance and a good pension scheme, plus a supportive environment focused on wellbeing and development. SBHA does not sponsor overseas applicants without the right to live and work in the UK.
