  • Participates in developing and administering safety incentives.
  • Implements and manages Webcor’s Injury/Illness Prevention Program and directs and coordinates the participation of employees within that program.
  • Conducts regular safety inspections of Webcor projects including the inspection of facilities, worksites, equipment, work practices, and safety devices to ensure compliance with required workplace safety standards, regulations, and Webcor policy.
  • Manage and coordinate substance abuse testing and set up medical clinics for new jobsites
  • Monitors substance abuse programs at all jobsites.
  • Confers with attorneys regarding liability cases.
  • Coordinates and/or delivers on-site training to project staff on safety practices and policies and related topics.
  • Effectively manages problem prevention strategies to limit reactionary practices
  • Compile materials for safety meetings, prepare agendas, and record meeting minutes
  • Serves as safety resource to division and assists in complying with Webcor safety standards; provides consultation, guidance and technical assistance on matters related to workplace safety.
  • Facilitate mass safety meetings and required weekly tailgate safety meetings
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
  • Reports safety findings to management and recommends changes to establish safe work conditions; monitors changes and/or makes follow-up inspections.
  • Conducts Quarterly Safety Meetings and monthly Operations safety meetings.
  • Trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of Site Safety Managers and other assigned staff.
  • Directs and participates in safety audits of operations to reduce occupation safety risk factors and ensure compliance with Webcor safety directives and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Ensures project safety goals and expectations are realistic, achievable, and revisited/revised at appropriate times during the life of the project
  • Serves as company interface between Owner-Subcontractors-Regulatory Agencies-Webcor Team and is responsible for developing safety leadership, motivation, education and communication with each entity
  • Serve as liaison for worker’s compensation reporting, case management, and recordkeeping and participate in Webcor claims management process
  • Facilitate Webcor's “return to work program” with employees, medical professionals, and project personnel

  • OSHA 500 Certified Trainer.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Extensive working knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA standards or other applicable codes
  • Ability to write clear and detailed concise thoughts in a professional manner
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies, safety and health professionals and legal representatives
  • Advanced Safety/Industrial Hygiene Certifications (CSP, ASP, CIH, OHST, and CHST) preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to use MS Office with proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and oral communicator
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or above certification (ASP/CSP) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
  • Technical as well as practical knowledge of basic construction safety laws, i.e., OSHA, Hazmat, crane safety, and excavation safety.
  • Demonstrated construction safety experience with solid industrial hygiene field skill set
  • Asbestos and Lead training preferred
  • Clearly defines goals, understands audiences, manages productive meetings, and manages and builds team morale
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (i.e., engineering, safety, health sciences, risk management) or equivalent work experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver license
  • Typically, eight years of related construction safety experience.
  • Current OSHA 30-hour construction safety training preferred
  • Current HAZWOPER 40 - hour training preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experienced in Industrial Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred
  • Ability to address an audience of various sizes and effectively communicate his/her message and ideas
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to both tradesmen and management.
