What you would be doing

  • Support the HVSS Regional Sales & Tendering Manager and Sales Director when requested to do so.
  • Proactively manage risk during the creation of the offering.
  • Represent HVSS in a professional, timely and articulate manner, at all times, to all stakeholders.
  • Positively contribute the overall company sales target.
  • Maintain Sales/Project Handover specific documentation in line with the company’s Business Management System (BMS).
  • Ensure that all assigned Tender Projects within your charge, are prioritised and returned within the agreeable timeframes, complaint or appropriately qualified &, when secured, carried through promptly to hand over to the Design team.
  • Achieve your individual project tendering quantity goals together with any yearly sales target.
  • Maintain a Continual Professional development (CPD) strategy.
  • Undertake Tender Design, Tender Proposal and Estimating based on project requirement in multi-utilities

  • Knowledge &/or experience of working with ‘Trimble’ or equivalent
  • First Aid at Work Certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years’ operating as Sales & Tendering Engineer
  • Proven Experience in delivering robust quotation outputs.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in technical sales, engineering, construction and/or management, &/or, equivalent knowledge, training and experience.
  • Authority to design approve or currently peer checking
  • Good and relevant technical knowledge through experience, training and or education
  • Degree or equivalent qualification, lesser qualification with experience
  • An understanding of Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2015
  • Project Management experience
  • Proven experience of achieving sales targets
  • Experience within the multi-utility industry
  • Will have previous leadership experience
  • Effective Project Management skills
  • An understanding of construction projects that fall within the classification of “notifiable” under the Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2015
  • Microsoft Project Competent to deliver simple tendering (baseline) programmes.
  • AutoCAD Competence
  • Experience of working within a face paced utility/ construction/services engineering sales team environment.
  • Technically Competent in all aspects of tendering and design up to 20kV
  • Design development experience
  • An understanding of tendering construction projects within MEICA/Utility Technical Construction Environment &/or T&D networks
  • Experience in working within a technical construction sale and estimating team.
  • Competence with Word/Excel/Power point
  • Some Commercial Experience - e.g. Contract Negotiations, Basic Finance knowledge
  • MIET or working toward
