The role involves leading HVAC and mechanical clean‑utility system design for complex, multidisciplinary projects, managing the mechanical scope, schedule, and budget from site selection through commissioning, and supporting business development through client relationships, proposals, and strategic pursuits.
As a technical leader and mentor, the engineer will guide junior and mid‑level staff while collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, construction teams, vendors, and trade partners, serving as Lead or Senior Mechanical Engineer as required.
- Lead mechanical design on diverse projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
- Act as Engineer of Record, overseeing engineering and design staff.
- Prepare and review technical documents (calculations, energy models, reports, P&IDs, specifications).
- Ensure coordination with internal and external stakeholders for integrated, constructible designs.
- Lead field surveys and identify code or design compliance issues.
- Provide construction support (RFIs, submittals, punch lists, progress tracking).
- Drive QA/QC through peer reviews and technical checks.
- Mentor less‑experienced engineers and designers.
- Lead system programming and master planning efforts.
- Support proposals, task planning, and project scheduling.
- Build and maintain client relationships; represent the firm in project pursuits.
- Collaborate with marketing and business development teams on presentations and proposals.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (mechanical focus, ABET‑accredited).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
- Experience in life sciences (pharma, biotech, labs) or food & beverage sectors.
- 15+ years of relevant mechanical/HVAC experience.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, clean utility, piping systems, and applicable codes (mechanical, plumbing, FLS).
- Knowledge of GMP environments and cleanroom standards.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- LEED, WELL, or other sustainability credentials (a plus).
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, OSHA standards.
- Experience with Revit plugins (e.g., Enscape, Unifi) and parametric tools (e.g., Dynamo, Grasshopper).
- Strong cross‑discipline coordination and field troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to develop and lead internal technical training.
- Willingness to travel for project execution and client support.
