The AI Governance Specialist (Policy, Process & Risk) will develop and maintain AI governance policies, risk controls, and procurement frameworks to ensure ethical and compliant AI use. You will operate the AI risk management process, integrate governance controls into sourcing and contracts, and coordinate ethical and privacy reviews. The role also supports assurance submissions, maintains the AI system register, and monitors regulatory developments.
In partnership with change managers, you will lead change and adoption strategies, create user guidance, and deliver role‑specific training on AI safety, ethics, and compliance. This holistic position offers the chance to gain experience within a department setting AI standards for Transport for NSW.
Successful candidates will have essential experience in AI data governance, strong knowledge of AI and data‑governance platforms, and proven ability to produce high‑quality documentation. Preferred attributes include AI ethics or data‑governance certification and experience with tools such as Collibra or Databricks.
The position is a fixed‑term flexible hybrid role ending on 30 September 2026, with 50 % office‑based time at the Macquarie Park or Elizabeth Street offices. Salary is $158,393 plus super.
