Line Operator

Description

The Line Operator performs daily production line activities, including housekeeping, safety, quality control, maintaining production efficiencies, and handling repairs and maintenance to minimize downtime. The role requires flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends, and varying shifts to accommodate equipment changeovers.

• Manage the plastic extrusion line to ensure finished goods meet quality specifications.
• Follow standard operating procedures to keep the production line operating within set parameters.
• Lead line tooling changes, start‑ups, and shutdowns efficiently and safely.
• Complete accurate shift production reports and conduct regular product sampling.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and troubleshoot mechanical issues on the line.
• Achieve or exceed standard production efficiency targets for each shift.
• Obtain certifications to operate multiple production lines as needed.
• Operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts, in a safe and controlled manner.

Requirements

Successful candidates possess mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities, basic computer skills, analytical thinking, and the capability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts safely. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and prior manufacturing machine operation or extrusion experience is preferred. The position demands physical stamina for extended periods, including standing, moving, twisting, bending, and handling finished goods throughout a 12‑hour shift.

• Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills in daily tasks.
• Maintain basic computer proficiency for data entry and reporting.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; prior extrusion or machine operation experience is preferred.
• Sustain physical endurance to stand, move, twist, bend, and handle goods throughout a 12‑hour shift.
