Land Development Manager

Description

The Land Development Manager oversees all site development activities—from due diligence through delivering finished lots—to support new community launches and homebuilding operations. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality and regulatory standards.

This role is essential for keeping communities on schedule, controlling development costs, and ensuring successful launches for the division.

• Coordinate permitting, inspections, and approvals with municipalities and agencies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Work closely with construction, sales, and leadership teams to align on community rollout and lot delivery.
• Review engineering plans, plats, and construction documents.
• Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cash flows.
• Select, contract, and manage engineers, contractors, and consultants.
• Conduct regular site visits and address field issues to keep projects on track.
• Support land acquisition with due diligence, feasibility, and development cost estimates.
• Manage land development projects including grading, utilities, roads, and amenities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• 3–7+ years of land development or site construction experience, ideally in residential homebuilding.
• Strong understanding of permitting, engineering plans, and site construction processes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
