  • Review all inspection reports, establish, and enforce safety guidelines and procedures.

  • Coordinate and facilitate the following functions: conduct safety training, conduct onsite inspections, investigate accidents or injuries
  • Review safety data, establish, and enforce safety guidelines and procedures
  • Lead and/or assist in the development of safety procedures, programs, and training as well as oversee safety programs

  • Document and maintain safety performance standards and specifications
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with central leadership, regional operations, and teams to ensure that safety strategies and programs align with regulations, corporate expectations, and policies.
  • Review injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports. Provide follow-up, as necessary.
  • Coordinate and facilitate in the following functions: issue safety equipment, conduct safety training programs, conduct onsite inspections of premises or equipment, investigate accidents or injuries
  • Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping a moderate amount of time while on shift.
  • Provides safety meeting support through topic suggestions, conducting safety meeting audits, and safety presentations.
  • Function as safety auditor and conduct safety audits as directed
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the safety protocols, procedures, and tools of the safety program (self-assessment, compliance assurance, audit, etc.).
  • Monitor company performance in multiple areas using diverse computer applications and methods.
  • Oversee or assist with the response and correction of significant safety events such as severe injury/illness, regulatory action, negative press coverage, etc.
  • May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.

  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work self-directed with a sense of urgency.
  • Able to travel extensively (approximately 30% of the time on average and up to 60% depending on business needs) - Travel is by car or air, Monday-Friday but, may extend over weekends, on occasion.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), strongly preferred.
  • OSHA 511 General Industry Standards (4 years)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal OSHA Construction Regulations, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and DOT regulations
  • SDS Record Keeping Training 29 CFR 1910.1200
  • Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed.

  • Maintains baseline familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations as applicable
  • Strong documentation skills and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities in a changing environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills including the ability to collaborate.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's’ License and acceptable driving record; company vehicle assigned.
  • OSHA 501 General Industry Standards (Trainer)(4 years)
  • OSHA 3010 Trench and Excavation
  • Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
  • OSHA 500 Construction Industry Standards (Trainer)(4 years)
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills.
  • First Aid / CPR / AED Trainer (2 years)
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction and/or General Industry Certification, preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of safety related field experience
  • Must maintain the following training certifications on a current basis:
  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • OSHA 510 Construction Industry Standards (4 years)
  • CPR, First AID, AED certified, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting training material and leading project groups, including employees of all levels, vendors, and customers - expert trainer with the ability to train others as trainer.
  • Employees performing these job functions are required to lift or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds in a shift with assistance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple internal computer applications and to interact with the data contained therein to form conclusions and strategies based on that data.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Smith System Certified Driver (Trainer)
  • Experience providing safety training and implementing safety initiatives.
  • Project management experience.
  • Must have demonstrated skill in Microsoft Excel to include creation and use of pivot tables, Google Applications for Business, and additional Microsoft Office products and iPhone applications.
  • Power, Construction, or Telecom Industry experience, preferred.
  • Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
