Inspectors conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, or suppression life‑safety product lines, as well as comparable products from competing manufacturers.
The role involves working with low‑voltage wiring and associated devices, completing service acknowledgements via laptops or hard copy, following a structured inspection schedule, and using mobile devices to input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents. Inspectors also perform minor repairs and programming changes, provide technical training to junior staff, and ensure inspections are completed on time.
Candidates need at least two years of installation or service experience with fire‑alarm equipment, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and the physical capability to lift 50‑70 lb and work in challenging positions such as ladders, scaffolds, and confined spaces. Flexibility to work weekends, travel overnight, and maintain a valid driver’s license is required, along with strong customer‑service skills, safety adherence, organizational ability, and basic computer proficiency. A NICET Level certification is preferred.
