The purpose of the role is to achieve project objectives across health & safety, quality, cost, environment, delivery and people, managing complex highway and technology schemes valued from £100k to over £4m, covering M&E, lighting, drainage and related works.
The role involves leading programmes from feasibility through design, construction and handover, producing investment proposals, developing cost profiles, managing risks, and overseeing framework contractors and designers to meet health‑and‑safety, time and cost expectations while supporting Egis’s net‑zero and biodiversity goals.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with portfolio manager, SPM, construction teams and external parties.
- Ensure compliance with DBFO contract, manage risks, produce reports and maintain records.
- Design and implement project plans, allocate resources and schedule activities.
- Lead programmes through feasibility, design, construction and handover, informing investment proposals.
- Develop robust cost profiles and identify key risks.
- Identify, assess and mitigate emerging risks, issues, dependencies and constraints.
- Commission and oversee framework contractors and designers, set health and safety, time and cost expectations.
- Support sustainability initiatives including net zero and biodiversity net gain.
- Coordinate permits, certificates and site reporting with the construction team.
- Manage NEC contract options and oversee shift work and travel requirements.
- Conduct periodic site visits, including night‑shift health‑and‑safety audits.

The Project Manager role is based flexibly in Leatherhead, South Mimms or Dartford, with travel to sites or other offices as required, including night‑shift health‑and‑safety audits. The position can be part‑time, job‑share or full‑time to attract the best talent.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong stakeholder collaboration, commercial acumen, resilience, excellent communication and organisational abilities, experience in maintaining detailed project plans, and a track record of mentoring junior staff.

- BSc/MSc in management/construction or equivalent experience.
- APM PFQ/PMQ/PPQ certification.
- CSCS and SMSTS (or equivalent) certification.
- Proficiency with Office 365.
- Current UK driving licence.
