The Lead Engineer will guide project teams in developing custom engineering solutions, balancing fast‑paced industry demands with technical excellence and innovation, while working on a hybrid schedule with regular on‑site presence.
- Develop and review Protection & Control settings designs.
- Perform coordination, short‑circuit, and event analysis studies.
- Create and validate HMI configurations and RTU design packages.
- Design and configure managed switches, LAN networks, and ensure cybersecurity compliance.
- Lead and coordinate engineering projects with minimal supervision.
- Interpret client‑specific standards and deliver work accordingly.
- Mentor and train junior engineers.
- Provide field support for troubleshooting, testing, and setup.
- Serve as Owner’s Engineer, reviewing designs and supplying project information.
- Hands‑on programming of protection relays and substation equipment.

Candidates should have 5‑8 years of relay/protection experience, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, proficiency in industry software such as ASPEN, SKM, or ETAP, hands‑on relay programming skills, knowledge of NERC requirements, and a PE or EIT license; IEC 61850 experience is a plus.
- 5–8 years of relay/protection engineering experience.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Proficiency with ASPEN, SKM, EasyPower, ETAP, or similar utility engineering software.
- Strong knowledge of engineering theory, NERC requirements, and IEC 61850/GOOSE (preferred).
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Experience with SEL, GE, Beckwith relays, Ruggedcom switches, and Cimplicity HMIs.
