Senior Planner

• Attend site meetings and interface with operational teams to verify progress and support live planning.
• Support delay analysis, extension of time claims, and forensic planning when required.
• Develop and manage detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Monitor project progress against key milestones, identifying potential delays and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to develop fully integrated project plans.
• Analyse and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents to inform programme development.
• Mentor and support junior planners where appropriate.
• Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and planning updates for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide planning support at all stages of the project lifecycle, from tender through to delivery and completion.

My client are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our team in Motherwell, supporting the successful planning and delivery of civil engineering projects across Scotland and the wider UK. You will play a key role in the development, management, and control of project programmes, working closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

• Proven experience in a planning role within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site locations when required.
• Experience in NEC or other major contract forms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and logistics.
• Working knowledge of 4D planning and BIM integration is advantageous.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, CIOB, ICE) preferred.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Degree/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
