You’ll collaborate daily with sales, engineering, purchasing, tooling, and operations to ensure quotes are both competitive and achievable. The position is available in Neillsville, WI; Defiance, OH; Milwaukee, WI; and Mayville, WI (see www.mecinc.com for details).
- Analyze technical documentation to determine resource requirements and ensure accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, purchasing, tooling, and operations to gather insights and resolve issues for realistic cost estimates.
- Obtain cost information from external vendors for items not produced internally.
- Partner with sales application engineering on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) cost and quality improvement proposals.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities, and constraints.
- Enter quote requirements into the quoting tool and adjust outputs as needed.
- Read design prints and use CAD/CAM software.

We’re looking for an Estimator to join our team and play a key role in delivering accurate, competitive quotes that support our customers and drive our business forward. In this role, you’ll be the expert who analyzes drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to develop precise cost estimates for fabricated tubing and metal products.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with strong organization and time‑management skills.
- Hold a high school diploma; associate degree in engineering, technical drawing, manufacturing technology, business, sales, or similar preferred.
- Have at least three years of estimating experience in metal fabrication or a similar industry; knowledge of tooling, jigs, and fixtures is a plus.
- Prefer experience with tubing products such as exhaust, fluid lines, fluid level indicators, HVAC, etc.
