Job Summary: The driver safely operates a tractor‑trailer, straight truck, or pup‑trailer requiring a Class A CDL on designated routes, ensuring safe and efficient transport of waste containers.
Essential duties include operating the vehicle in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations while maintaining a clean and safe vehicle. The driver performs pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (eDVIR) and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, service calls, incidents, accidents, or property damage to the Operations Manager and Dispatch. Responsibilities also involve communicating customer requests, dumping and positioning containers without blocking driveways, keeping sites clean, collaborating with Operations Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiency, and completing all required documentation at the end of each route.
Required qualifications are a minimum age of 18, legal eligibility to work in the country, a valid CDL Class A, and at least one year of commercial driving experience or recent military driving experience within the past seven years. Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, pass a pre‑employment DOT drug screen, physical exam, and background check that includes employment, criminal, and motor‑vehicle record reviews.
Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED. The position demands various physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, and it may be performed in indoor garage or shop settings as well as outdoor environments with inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
