The Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Duct Superintendent I maintains open, positive, and professional communication with customers, vendors, general contractors, internal teams, and trade partners while supervising employees across multiple projects. This role ensures a safe working environment that complies with government regulations and OSHA Safety standards, and it requires regular travel.
The Superintendent is accountable for coordinating HVAC material and equipment delivery, managing installation schedules, and keeping project status current to guarantee timely completion. They lead weekly inspections, safety meetings, and quality‑control activities, and they act as the primary point of contact for contractors and sub‑contractors.
Candidates must have at least five years of experience on commercial or healthcare projects, a solid grasp of mechanical drawings, HVAC and pipe‑fitting systems, and proficiency with relevant building codes and regulations. Open availability for travel, after‑hours work, and overtime is essential, as is a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Required education includes a high school diploma (or equivalent) and OSHA 30 certification, with a total of ten or more years of relevant experience. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, negotiation, and communication skills are also needed, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and industry‑specific software.
Physical demands involve standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to use hands and arms for handling tools and equipment.
