Hardware Test Engineer

Description

• Support for regulatory compliance testing (CE/UL, IEC, IEEE) for high-power industry applications.
• Validation and verification of embedded hardware platforms with micro-computer-based systems and analog/digital I/Os.
• Design and execution of test plans for hardware components integrated with software and firmware.
• Development of automated test tools and simulation environments for hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure robust hardware validation and product reliability.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills.
• Exposure to fault location, fault recording, and power quality instrumentation.
• Experience in product development for utilities and industrial customers.
• Use of Agile Scrum methodology for hardware / software validation and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity testing.
• Minimum four years of industry experience, including at least three years in hardware validation and test automation in a production or lab environment.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems design and electrical engineering principles.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP 3.0, and MODBUS strongly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and drive high-performance validation strategies.
• Familiarity with protocol testing tools like IEC Browser, IED Scout, Modbus Poll, and Modbus Slave.
