The Director of Valuation Advisory in Birmingham is a P4‑level role that leads high‑profile retail and office valuation assignments while mentoring junior team members. The position serves a varied portfolio of lending clients—including banks, building societies, and alternative lenders—and provides strategic valuation advice across the retail and office sectors.
The role blends client leadership, business development, technical excellence, and market intelligence. It requires building strong client relationships, identifying new opportunities, delivering rigorous valuations, and sharing market insights through research publications and industry events.
- Lead client relationships and act as primary contact for key lending clients
- Develop new business opportunities and maintain market presence in Birmingham and the Midlands
- Prepare and present proposals and pitches to prospective clients
- Represent JLL at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
- Conduct complex valuations for retail and office properties for acquisition, refinancing, and portfolio purposes
- Prepare detailed valuation reports for term loans, development finance, and workout situations
- Ensure all work complies with RICS Red Book standards and internal quality assurance procedures
- Manage and mentor junior colleagues, overseeing work allocation and delivery
- Provide technical guidance and support the career development of junior staff
- Contribute to recruitment and interview processes for new team members
- Analyze market trends, rental values, yields, and comparable transactions
- Contribute to JLL research publications and market reports
- Provide market insights to clients and internal stakeholders

Candidates must hold an MRICS qualification (or equivalent) and have 8‑10 years of commercial property valuation experience, particularly in retail and office markets.
