- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment for plumbing tasks.
- Perform preventative maintenance to eliminate operating problems and improve outcomes.
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and both metal and non-metal pipes.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles for installation.
- Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems according to plumbing codes.
- Perform tests to locate leaks and other plumbing issues using water or air and reading gauges.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures, including toilets, drains, and water heaters.
- Inspect structures to locate and mark positions for pipes and connections.
- Maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
- Maintain inventories of tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring optimal material consumption.
- Ensure plumbing systems are safe and running efficiently.
- Provide estimates of time and materials for plumbing projects.
- Work collaboratively with contractors and other tradesmen.
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe fittings.
- Troubleshoot and perform emergency repairs on plumbing systems.
- Model and promote excellent customer service for internal and external customers.
- Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, and solder.
- Follow all safety protocols and comply with statutory regulations and plumbing codes.

- Strong ability to operate under severe temperature conditions for long periods of time.
- Completion of an apprenticeship or trade school in plumbing.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequently reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or pulling.
- Good working knowledge of plumbing specifications and Kentucky plumbing codes.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction sites.
- Valid Journeyman Plumbers License from the State of Kentucky.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of related experience in plumbing, commercial plumbing highly desired.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull objects over 50 lbs. and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, or/and kneel continually.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, associate’s degree or Technical Diploma in plumbing with 4 years of experience is preferred
