Director, Tax

Description

The Director of Taxation will partner closely with senior management of the Brookfield Renewable Group in the Asia Pacific region, leading the development and execution of tax strategy, planning initiatives and risk management practices. This role offers a strong platform for career growth within a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.

• Lead tax planning and strategy for Brookfield Renewable Group in Asia Pacific.
• Conduct tax due diligence for M&A transactions.
• Advise senior management on tax strategies and communicate risks.
• Provide ongoing tax support to finance, accounting, legal and investment teams.
• Oversee work of third‑party tax advisors and manage transfer pricing documentation.
• Ensure compliance with tax reporting, provision and offshore tax requirements.
• Monitor and interpret new tax legislation affecting the region and update leadership.
• Maintain and expand technical tax knowledge through professional development.
• Assist with ad‑hoc tax planning projects and other assignments as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years corporate tax experience in Big 4, law firm or multinational industry.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant and/or lawyer with strong Asia‑Pacific tax expertise.
• Proven experience with cross‑border tax issues and IFRS tax accounting.
• Ability to manage complex tax matters independently with third‑party consultants.
• Strong project‑management and multitasking skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in M&A due diligence and corporate tax matters; willingness to travel.
