The Production Supervisor role is a safety‑sensitive position responsible for leading production employees to safely produce high‑quality products while meeting operational, environmental and process requirements. The position drives performance through effective leadership, employee engagement and consistent execution of plant standards.
Production Supervisors work full‑time on rotating schedules, typically 40–50 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, with occasional overtime. Shift assignments may change based on operational needs.
- Lead production employees daily to achieve safety, quality and production targets.
- Promote a strong safety culture through discussions, safe behaviors and compliance.
- Train, coach and develop staff using standard work instructions and SOPs; identify training needs.
- Address employee concerns, conflicts and performance issues promptly while reinforcing IKO values.
- Evaluate performance, provide coaching and feedback for continuous improvement.
- Complete and maintain production documentation, metrics, checklists, timecards, absences and incident investigations.
- Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, maintenance and cross‑functional teams.
- Participate in daily production meetings, continuous‑improvement initiatives and operational problem‑solving.
- Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards; coordinate with maintenance for equipment breakdowns and service requests.
- Build respectful, collaborative relationships across departments and perform additional duties as assigned.

The job involves significant physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing and lifting items up to 50 lb, as well as working at heights and in confined spaces. Employees must have the required vision abilities and may be exposed to fumes, noise, vibration and extreme conditions.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, though occasional out‑of‑area or overnight travel may be required.
- Hold a post‑secondary degree or equivalent hands‑on supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing or technical environment with decision‑making and influencing abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with time‑keeping systems and employee schedule management.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office is an asset.
