Join a team that ensures safe, reliable water services for our community. In this role you will operate and maintain water plants, reservoirs, and related systems, monitor chemical processes, inspect equipment, and use telemetry to comply with county, state, and EPA standards. The position reports to the Operations Supervisor and directly supports the health and sustainability of our water systems.
You will provide daily operational support to keep water production systems efficient and reliable, coordinate maintenance and repairs on equipment such as booster pumps and process controls, and conduct quality checks on production, chlorination, and control systems. Collecting samples, performing water testing, calculating chemical dosing, and adjusting feed rates are key tasks, as is monitoring chemical inventory and requesting replenishment. Additionally, you will operate and adjust plant process equipment, collaborate with contractors, developers, customers, and team members, maintain clean facilities, and uphold safety standards while taking on extra duties as needed.
The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least five years of relevant experience, and Grade 4 certifications for surface water treatment, plus a valid Arizona driver’s license. Candidates must understand water treatment operations, safety practices, and the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in treatment facilities. Strong math skills, the ability to perform standardized water analyses, and proficiency with hand and power tools are essential, as is the willingness to work rotating schedules, including nights and weekends. Physical ability to lift up to 100 lb, work outdoors in all weather, and operate utility repair equipment is also required.
