Safety Lead

Description

• Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to design and deliver tailored programs and initiatives that drive continuous improvement and build safety capability across the project.
• Maintain and strengthen the Project’s WHS management systems, policies, and plans.
• Build strong relationships with internal leaders, contractors, and clients, ensuring alignment and consistency across the alliance.
• Provide expert technical input to ensure all legal and contractual obligations are clearly identified, controlled, and communicated.
• Lead and participate in high-level incident investigations and risk assessments, ensuring learnings are captured and shared.
• Partner with stakeholders across all zones to coach, support and embed world-class WHS practices, systems, and procedures.
• Analyse health and safety data to provide meaningful insights and drive performance improvements.
• Champion the Project’s Values and Behaviours, leading by example with a proactive and visible commitment to safety.

Requirements

• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage teams at all levels.
• Proven experience within construction, infrastructure, or other high-risk industries.
• A confident safety professional with a genuine passion for creating safer, smarter workplaces.
• Strong technical knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance frameworks, and safety management systems.
• Proven capability in leading investigations, analysing data, and translating insights into practical improvements.
• Holds a formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to building a strong, positive safety culture across complex projects.
