Issue analysis of regulatory and legislative policy dynamics that protect the Company's competitive interests, and will ultimately shape or lead policymakers' opinions and agenda.
Issue analysis and corresponding development of strategic positions that integrate company and business unit regulatory strategies. Build a strategic direction consensus and ensure a purposeful, effective focus among the Company's leadership team.
Provide expertise in regulatory matters to other company work units.
Maintain working knowledge of state-of-the-art structural and public economic issues to protect the Company's interests as energy public policy evolves at both the state and federal-levels.
Develop competitive methodologies at the corporate and business unit levels that are equally sensitive priorities, as well as regulatory constraints.
Research and deliver fact-based analysis which is critical to the Company's strategic business decisions to Regulatory Affairs management as well as DTE executive management. Integrate corporate, business unit, and regulatory strategies into cohesive, executable plans. Determine the impact proposed legislation and/or rulings will have toward current Company regulatory strategies. Become the Company's advocate on pending issues before public policymakers and strive to build consensus around proposed strategic regulatory solutions.
Create and maintain relationships with regulators and other policymakers to assure the Company retains a forum to advocate its viewson policy and ratemaking.
Lead cross functional teams as necessary in fulfilling the job accountabilities.
