Technical Designer - Senior

Description

• Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specifications, and material selections; ensure design intent is incorporated into construction documentation
• Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction projects
• Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
• Utilize hand and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts

Your Role As a Gensler Technical Designer, you will produce technical documentation and communicate project progress to team members to ensure success. You are a fit for this role if you have experience in construction documentation, are proficient in Revit, and enjoy collaborating with architects and interior designers who bring design dreams to life. This position suits someone who is technically proficient and thrives in a highly creative, collaborative environment focused on innovative problem solving and design excellence.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design
• 10‑15 years of professional experience
• Proficient in Revit (licensure process required; LEED professionals encouraged)
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
• Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp and other 3D modeling software

Benefits

The base salary range is estimated between $93,500 and $125,000. Gensler’s total compensation package includes the base salary, two annual bonuses paid in December and June, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and profit sharing.
