Description

• Clearing of ejector trap drains in the basement
• Replacement of angle valves for blow down’s
• Replacement of defective hose cocks for Gardening and Janitorial uses.
• Repairs on standpipe lines
• Cleaning of ejector pit
• Flushing & cleaning of ejectors
• Demolition of ceramic tile walls, gypsum and plaster walls to remove defective water & waste lines for repairs.
• Responsible for Clearing of Kitchen and Bathroom back-up drains, slow drains and total stoppage
• Repairs, replacement and flushing of cold & hot feed and return lines.
• Removal of defective water risers between floors or in the problem apartment and the installation of brass threaded pipe and fittings.
• Repairs and adjustment of Oval Fountain.
• Snaking of kitchen, bathroom, roof leader stacks
• Clearing stall shower drain in individual vertical stack
• Repairs and maintenance of laundry room water supplies, drains and discharge tubs
• Replacement of standpipe cap for water valve
• Flushing of cold & hot water system for individual risers
• Replacement or repairs of Kitchen and Bathroom fixtures & drains
• Replacement of stem/wedges of Jenkin’s gate valves on the basement floors in which includes shut down of Buildings water supply lines.
• Opening & flushing of sprinkler system in the surrounding grounds
• Clean out oil separators for Commercial Garages at #1 through #6.
• Emergency shutdown of fireman valves or Domestic valves.
• Clearing of Bathroom and Kitchen waste stacks, floor drains and roof leaders.
• Inspection of fire reserve piping in house tanks.
• Replacement of cold and hot water valves for feed and return lines.
• Closing & opening of domestic water valves in the surrounding grounds
• Closing & opening of water tank valves for feed or drainage lines
• Emergency shutdown of standpipe valves for buildings
• Repairs on existing fixtures and waste lines for Kitchen and bathroom.
• Readings of water meters for Commercial Stores
• Replacement of Bathroom faucet, shower body and toilet bowls.
• Clearing of floor drains in the basement
• Flooding of roof to test leakage of the roof or plumbing
• Replacement of horizontal waste & soil lines from 2” up to 8” no-hub pipe work.
• Removal of defective waste lines & installation of new waste lines underneath kitchen sink
• Repairs on hot or cold Feed lines
• Replacement of floor drains- either in crawl space or in concrete floors
• Stocking pipe work to Plumbing Shop or Plumbing Storeroom
• Sprinkler head maintenance, repair and replacement in Laundry, Compactor and Carriage rooms
• Replacement of floor drains from 3” up to 4” no-hub pipe work and fittings

Requirements

• Chain/Lock repair and replacement for standpipe on main riser valves, compactor room valves and laundry room valves.
• A valid Driver's License must be enrolled in the New York State License Event Notification Service (LENS) program.
• An open-minded communicator who establishes clear, direct expectations for team members and provides an avenue for feedback that allows people to improve every day.
• Replacement of sprinkler valve for Gardening uses
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Brass flange on lead bend, waste lines on bathtub, sink and toilet bowl.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a construction trade
• A willingness to respond to emergency situations no matter the time of day
• Ability to use a tablet based work order program to complete assigned work orders
• Hydro testing for Standpipe system with License Plumber
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Replacement of Kitchen Faucet
• Defective soil and waste stacks from 2” up to 4” cast iron pipe replacement.
• Note - brass threaded pipe comes in sizes from ½” up to 2”)
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs.).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Able to multi-task under high pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Flushing & venting manifold on standpipe line
• Weekends or overtime required on occasion or in emergency situations
• Basic – Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Outlook
