The role is accountable for the commercial aspects of component development supporting new product introduction programs, as well as managing policies, agreements, and special purchasing programs. The buyer acts as a liaison with enterprise, site, and regional category procurement teams to ensure the category strategy is executed effectively.
Key duties include developing and implementing a global sourcing strategy, managing supplier relationships for manufacturing and engineering demand, and providing leadership on sourcing, logistics, and resource decisions. The incumbent leads continuous‑improvement initiatives and NPI activities, coordinates with enterprise and regional category buyers, and oversees product supply phase‑in and phase‑out while ensuring supply‑resilience across the global electronics base.
Core competencies required are effective communication, strong interpersonal relationship building, proficient negotiation, and thorough contracts management. The candidate must also excel in supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing, continuously analyzing and improving procurement processes.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in electrical or electronic engineering, and possess finely honed negotiation skills with the ability to interpret and negotiate contractual cost elements. Demonstrated leadership in devising sourcing strategies, analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, and project leadership experience are essential. Preferred experience includes purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, or engineering of electronic components, and professional certifications in purchasing or inventory management, with an MBA considered a plus.
The position offers a salary range of $112,710 to $169,060, domestic relocation assistance, up to 20‑30% domestic travel, and requires five days per week on‑site work. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
