Project Controls Engineer

Description

• Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
• Assists in the development and application of unit rates (cost and job hours) to quantity takeoffs
• Assists in developing specific project codes of accounts and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions
• Supports the preparation of cost data for proposals or contracts
• Assists in the development of quantity takeoffs for a specific discipline or specialty
• Supports the project trend program
• Assists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
• Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed

Requirements

• Proficiency in using PC operating systems, including several basic software applications.
• . Experience on major lump sum projects with direct hire construction strategy is required. Knowledge of LNG projects and jobsite experience is preferred. Proactive self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Proficiency in using multiple discipline-specific software applications currently used by Bechtel (Ecosys, Hyperion, Digital Supply Chain, for example). Knowledge of financial report systems and controller account codes, and understanding of Controller instructions, which impact Project Controls. Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel. Knowledge of engineering and/or construction management is customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
• Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis at a jobsite location. Skilled in oral and written communication.
